Punjab Govt to Vaccinate All Medical Students

The Government of Punjab has decided to administer COVID-19 vaccines to all the students at medical universities and colleges across the province.

The provincial minister for Health, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, chaired a meeting on Monday in which the ongoing coronavirus vaccination process was discussed. It was decided that all medical students are now to be inoculated against the coronavirus.

The minister said that the vaccination drive is in full swing, and over 124,000 people were vaccinated the previous day. She added that concerned authorities have been directed to collect complete data in order to expand the scope of the vaccination drive across the province.

She also revealed that the proposal of the preferential vaccination of people from 30 different sectors, including banks, industries, and educational institutions, is being considered.

Furthermore, the provincial Chief Secretary has directed the concerned officers to ensure compliance with COVID-19 protocols after the easing of a few restrictions and has sought a report from the Punjab Healthcare Commission on the underreporting of coronavirus cases by private labs in some cities.
