Punjab Bans Entry of Unvaccinated Citizens in Govt Offices

The Punjab government has decided to ban the entry of unvaccinated citizens in all government offices across the province.

According to the official notification, unvaccinated citizens will not be allowed to enter the premises of the CM Office, Civil Secretariat, and all other government offices of the province.

The Punjab government has been exploring different ways to speed up the COVID-19 vaccination drive. Last month, it decided to block SIM cards of unvaccinated individuals besides restricting their access to shopping malls and restaurants in the province.

Earlier this week, the Punjab government launched a door-to-door COVID-19 vaccination campaign in five high-risk districts, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, and Multan, of the province.

Under the two-week campaign, 356 teams of District Health Authority (DHA) in Rawalpindi, 528 teams of DHA Lahore, 566 of DHA Faisalabad, 224 of DHA Gujranwala, and 250 of DHA Multan will take part in the campaign.

There are 100 million vaccine-eligible people in the country and the federal government aims to vaccinate 70 million of them against COVID-19 by the end of the year.
