Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a review meeting on commodity prices and declared that the provision of essential commodities at affordable prices to people is the top priority of the government.
He directed the Tehsil and District Administration and the Competition Commission of Pakistan to facilitate the masses by ensuring fair prices of food items via action against profiteers and mafias.

The Prime Minister also directed the provincial Chief Secretaries to ensure that action is taken against the negligent officers regarding prices.
He further stressed the need to make the existing cell more active in monitoring prices on a regular basis and ensuring reasonable prices.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Planning Asad Umar, Minister for Industries and Production Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib, SAPM on Political Communication Dr. Shahbaz Gill, and concerned senior officers. The Minister for Finance, Shaukat Tareen, and the Chief Secretaries of Balochistan and the Punjab attended it via video link.
