PC-I of Rawalpindi Ring Road Revised

The divisional administration has revised the Project Concept (PC-I) of the Rawalpindi Ring Road and has submitted it for approval to the provincial government.

According to the details, the 38 km long old alignment of the road from Grand Trunk (GT) Road to Thulian has been restored, and the work on the Ring Road project will begin from August after the approval of the government.

According to the spokesperson for the divisional administration, the project is expected to be approved, and the Ring Road will begin at GT Road in Rawat and will stretch to Thalian near the motorway.

However, a senior official of the district administration inquired on the condition of anonymity as to how the government could start a project in this fiscal year when it was not included in the annual development program for 2021-22.

He further questioned the revision of PC-I without the involvement of a consultant.

The spokesperson of the divisional administration did not have satisfactory answers to these concerns.
