Pakistan has ordered two million doses of the Sputnik V vaccine from Russia in a bid to control the spread of COVID-19.
According to the details, a deal has been finalized and the first batch of 200,000 doses is arriving in Pakistan soon.
Pakistan Air Force’s (PAF) special aircraft will airlift the first consignment of the Russian vaccine from Abu Dhabi to Pakistan.

Russia’s Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine will be administered in two shots, three weeks apart, and it will have a six-month shelf life.
According to one of the lead developers of the Sputnik V vaccine, Russian scientist Denis Logunov, the shot is 97.6 percent effective against the virus based on the data from 3.8 million people.

The effectiveness rate is more than the 91.6 percent rate found in the results from a large-scale trial of Sputnik V which was published in The Lancet journal.
