He added that his selection in the national team is justified because of his performances over the past year, not because of his age. Hafeez said that the only way he can win over the critics is by performing and playing match-winning knocks.

Hafeez said that he has had an illustrious career, but the only thing missing is being a part of a World Cup-winning team. He said that his aim before hanging up his boots is to play a crucial part in winning the World Cup for his country.
