Former left-arm fast bowler, Mohammad Amir, is gutted over missing out on Test cricket in Pakistan over the course of his international career. Amir said that he is still proud of representing the nation in Test cricket, but it would have been wonderful to play a Test match in front of his home crowd.

“It hurts that I’ve never played a Test match in my home country, but there are a few reasons behind this. When I started playing international cricket there were no matches being played in Pakistan and then, of course, I took retirement from Test cricket. But, despite that, I am proud that I have represented Pakistan in Test cricket not once or twice, but thirty-six times,” Amir said.
Amir played his last Test match in 2019 against South Africa, however, he shockingly announced his retirement from the format shortly after the conclusion of the series. Last year, Amir shocked the fans once more as he announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket.

He said that he has been mentally tortured by the current Pakistan team management and he can no longer play for the Men in Green until the current management changes. Amir reiterated that he has no plans to return to international cricket at the moment, but if a possibility arises in the future, he will put on the green jersey back again.
Amir represented Pakistan in 36 Test matches, 61 ODIs, and 50 T20Is, picking up 259 international wickets across all formats. It is pertinent to mention that Amir lost 5 years due to corruption charges as well.
