MG HS Gets a Price Hike for CBU Version

According to a recent update, the price of the MG HS CBU has been increased to Rs. 5,749,000 after a price hike of Rs. 264,000.

The new price for the HS CBU is effective as of today, and the booking price for the vehicle is Rs. 2,000,000.

MG is yet to issue an official statement explaining why the price of the vehicle has been increased. However, it has been speculated for quite some time that the price of the MG SUVs is likely to go up following the recurring difficulties in international trade and the global chip shortage impeding the production of vehicles all over the world.

A significant development was shared yesterday by Javed Afridi — the key stakeholder of the company — that MG has begun local production of its SUVs in a Lahore-based vehicle assembling facility. However, it is yet to be revealed if the price of the MG HS CKD will also be increased or not.

The new price of the MG HS makes it a close rival of the Haval SUVs, but considering that the Jolion has now become a cheaper option, the H6 is still the most expensive vehicle in its class. As compared to other SUVs in the segment, MG has now become an even more of a distant competitor due to the price increase.
