Maryam Mujtaba Makes AJK Proud as its First Commercial Pilot

Maryam Mujtaba, a proud resident of Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK), has achieved a huge milestone by becoming the first woman commercial pilot from the region.

Expressing her delight in an interview with reporters, Maryam credited her family, mentors, and colleagues for helping her every step of the way.

The President of AJK, Sardar Masood Khan, commended her for her significant contributions to the aviation sector as a living example for other women to pursue their dreams without bearing the burden or proclivity of cultural traditions.

Maryam had initially joined Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in 2011 as a cadet pilot and went through rigorous training from academies in Rawalpindi and the USA before completing her flying hours through a series of numerous domestic flights.

She recently got promoted by the national flag carrier as a first officer after completing her flying hours. Currently, Maryam operates the PIA Airbus A-320 aircraft across various international destinations.
