Honor is Allowed to Use Android on its Phones

Earlier this year, Huawei announced the sale of its subsidiary Honor solely to help it get around US imposed sanctions. After its separation from Huawei, Honor retained a team of more than 8,000 people for different divisions, including Research & Development, Sales, Marketing, Procurement, and Manufacturing.

Soon after the change of management, rumors about the company not receiving Android authorization started surfacing on the internet. These rumors made it difficult for the smartphone manufacturer to enter the overseas market and thus. As a result, it had to lower its sales forecast.

However, over the past few months, Honor has been working on strengthening its supply chain and forming partnerships with vendors across the world. Recently, it also established connections with brands like Qualcomm, Intel, and more.

As soon as more and more brands started backing up Honor, it refuted the rumors about Android authorization and said that the company has received the nod to start using Android on its smartphones. Honor has officially responded and claims that the rumors about not getting authorization from Google are untrue. This means that the company has indeed received permission to start using Android on its smartphones.

Now, the company is working on launching new smartphones in the Honor Magic lineup and the Honor 50 series in June, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset. They will most likely come with GMS.
