Google is readying to unveil its Pixel 6 lineup in the coming months. Google has been playing safe with its Pixel series for years now, it is time for the search engine giant to play around a little.

As the launch date nears, leaks and rumors have started to pick up the pace. Last week, the reliable tipster Jon Prosser shared some renders of the series, showing that the camera system will be housed in a wider module that extends from edge to edge horizontally. It is good to see Google straying from the mundane square-shaped camera bump we saw on the previous models.

Another welcome change is that this year, the lineup will not consist of a single phone like last year. This time around, we are getting both a Pixel 6 and a Pixel 6 Pro.

The Pixel 6 seems smaller and has only two cameras in that huge bump on the back, we wouldn’t be surprised if one of those is a normal camera sensor while the other one is ultrawide. The Pixel 6 Pro, on the other hand, seems bigger and adds a third sensor.

In addition to this, the smartphone’s camera module recently appeared in a leak revealing that it will have three imaging sensors onboard including a periscope lens. Although the images are concept renders, they are based on insider information.

The images also show a fourth component, which, according to the source, is a Spectral/Flicker Sensor.

The Pixel 6 series is expected to be powered by Google’s custom-made chip codenamed Whitechapel. The phones will most likely arrive with an in-screen fingerprint sensor which hints towards an AMOLED display.

As far as specifications are concerned, we don’t have a lot of information as of yet. However, we are expecting details to start pouring in soon.

In other news, Google is also said to be working on a smartwatch called the Google Pixel Watch. The wearable device is expected to debut with the Pixel 6 series this year.
