Hasan Ali Opens Up on Horrors of Bowling to Rohit Sharma

Fast bowler, Hasan Ali, has named Indian opening batsman, Rohit Sharma, as the toughest batsman he has bowled to so far in his career. Hasan said that Rohit has the ability to hurt the opponent’s bowling unit and can take the game away from the opposition in an instant.

“He (Rohit) has a lot of potential and can hit you anywhere. He plays the ball late and in the line of the delivery, especially his pick-up shots, which is not easy. Not every player can play such shots but Rohit has that ability,” Hasan commented.

Hasan added that he has been on the receiving end of Sharma’s onslaught on a number of occasions and he has troubled him in many matches. Hasan added that if Sharma is on song, he can hurt the bowlers really hard.

Right-arm pacer said that Sharma’s class was fully on display in the 2018 Asia Cup and 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup matches between India and Pakistan. Sharma scored centuries in both the matches and helped India to a victory over their arch-rivals.

Sharma has a brilliant record against Pakistan. He has played 16 ODI matches against the Men in Green, scoring 720 runs at an average of 51.42. He has scored 2 centuries and 6 half-centuries in the matches between the two nations.

Hasan, on the other hand, has not enjoyed bowling to the Indian batsmen. Having played only 5 matches against India, Hasan has picked up only 3 wickets, all in the same match, the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy final, at an average of 51.60.

Hasan is currently spending time in quarantine in the UAE and is gearing up for the remainder of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2021. He will be seen in action in the first match once the tournament resumes, appearing for Islamabad United against Lahore Qalandars.
