Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Fawad Chaudhry, on Sunday announced that Eid-ul-Fitr will be observed on 14 May in Pakistan, according to the calendar of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Ruet app.
According to the details, the minister tweeted that the moon of Shawwal would be sighted on 13 May, thus Eidul Fitr will be celebrated on 14 May, however, he also clarified that the final decision regarding this matter will be taken by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

Meanwhile, the meteorological department revealed that the birth of the Shawwal moon will begin after 12:00 a.m. on 12 May.
“There is no chance that the Shawwal moon will be sighted on Wednesday,” it said.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad on the 29th of Ramadan, 12 May for the moon sighting.
Similarly, zonal committees meetings would be conducted in their respective areas and witnesses would be gathered from across Pakistan by the central committee.
