Etihad’s UAE Flights From India and Pakistan Suspended Until August 2

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has suspended flights from Pakistan and India until at least 2 August, Etihad Airways, the UAE’s national carrier, said on Monday.

The revelation came in response to a customer queries on Twitter. When one of the intending passengers asked that why no Etihad flight was scheduled for India until the first week of August, the airline’s customer service representatives responded that the flights are officially canceled.

“We’ve just received confirmation that flights from India are suspended till the 2nd of August, and we are not entirely sure if this will be extended as it depends on the authorities. You may not see availability on the website because of the schedule uncertainty.”

The airline also confirmed that flights to and from Pakistan will remain suspended until the stipulated time.

Earlier on July 24, the UAE government had extended the flight ban on Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka until July 28. The country is yet to officially announce the extension in the flight suspension. However, UAE airlines have started canceling flights beyond the deadline.

Emirates Airline on Monday said there would be no flights to and from the four South Asian countries until July 31.

The move, which is in line with directives issued by the UAE Government, also applies to passengers who have connected through the four countries in the last 14 days, who will “not be accepted to travel from any other point to the UAE,” as per a statement on the carrier’s website.
