The Patriots announced the news on various social media platforms.

“Let’s welcome our power-packed sixes hitter Asif Ali all the way from Pakistan… looking forward to a lot of hits going outside Warner park,” Patriots tweeted.

Asif has been one of the most sought-after players in T20 franchise cricket. His power-hitting has been one of the main reasons for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) outfit Islamabad United’s success over the years, helping them to two PSL titles.

However, Asif’s record in the CPL has been less than spectacular, having represented Jamaica Tallawahs and Barbados Tridents (now known as Barbados Royals) in the previous editions of CPL. Asif has scored 118 runs at an average of 14.75 in 10 matches he played in the tournament.

On the other hand, his T20 record is relatively better. He has scored 3,648 runs at an average of 24.98 and a strike rate of 147.69 in 198 matches.
