Ishq-e-Laa Episode 10 – Clash of Principles

Ishq-e-Laa is turning out to be a far more interesting drama than I imagined it would be. Right from the beginning, it has been a surprise package since what was promoted as a love story turned out to be a story about soul searching and finding the true meaning of being close to the Almighty. Even though these themes of the drama have not been directly inculcated into the script at the moment, it is quite evident that the basic purpose of the drama is to highlight the true meaning of human existence. The characters are shaping up even more…

Parizaad Episode 24 Story Review – Unexpected Developments

Parizaad’s journey continues to be marked with major changes in the main protagonist’s personality in particular. Tonight P Z Mir truly came into its own and it would be safe to say that Parizaad’s transformation from a young lost boy to an underground Don is now complete! The gradual and convincing changes in Parizaad’s personality have to be the best aspect of the drama so far. This drama continues to be unpredictable to an extent that sometimes it really takes time for me to get used to the new twists and turns in the story. The writer was definitely thinking…

Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay Episode 20 & 21 Story Review – Heartbreaking

Ohkay so, these two episodes of Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay were intense & gripping. I will give credit to the director for making Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay so engaging even at this stage of the drama. I will have to say that after a long time, I am getting to see a drama that is going to have a proper wrap-up. Usually, the endings are either rushed or half-baked but this is definitely turning out to be the kind of ending where the viewers will have all their questions answered. I thoroughly enjoyed watching these episodes & I…

Ishq e Laa Episode 7 & 8 Story Review – Unexpected Changes

These episodes of Ishq-e-Laa were entertaining and visually pleasing. The major tracks in the story changed considerably in more ways than one. Even though some of these changes were a little too extreme and sudden, it was definitely refreshing watching Azlaan and Kanwal changing to a great extent. The performances were on point and except for the unnecessary physical closeness between the main leads; their scenes were an absolute delight to watch. Azaan Sami Khan and Sajal Aly’s on-screen chemistry reminded me of Mawra Hocane and Ameer Gillani in Sabaat. It is always good to see new pairings in dramas.…

Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay Episode 19 Story Review – The Truth

Ohkay so, this entire episode of Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay was dedicated to Aswad & the lies that he was fed. I do understand that the writer has tried to show Aswad as a victim of circumstances & now the entire blame is being put on Mashal for what she used to say about Mehreen. However, instead of seeing Mashal responsible for what Aswad went through, I solely & completely hold him accountable for being so obnoxious. I really don’t think falling out of one guilt into another is going to be redemption enough for Aswad! Mehreen Is Not…

Pehli Si Mohabbat Episode 18 Story Review – Best One

Tonight’s episode of Pehli Si Mohabbat was one of the best we have seen so far. Faiza Iftikhar is perhaps the only writer whose dramas get more interesting and meaningful as the story moves forward. She takes her time establishing the characters and their stories instead of banking on the fast-paced first few episodes in order to grab the attention of the viewers. The way the supporting characters have played such an integral role in the story and have such a strong presence that they cannot be ignored is also highly appreciated. A character such as the one Nausheen Shah…

Raqs-e-Bismil Episode 22 Story Review – Lackluster

This latest episode of Raqs-e-Bismil focused more on Moosa, Laila, and Sheheryar. Sheheryar’s track probably came to an end with this episode. Zohra got barely any screen time and it would be safe to say that ever since she disappeared, the drama is getting more fantasy-like than ever before. I am also getting tired of watching Moosa suffer, can we have his happy ending already? Some of the dialogues tonight were also disappointing such as the ones uttered by Moosa when he found out the truth. The fact that Zohra’s character is too plain makes everyone’s efforts to ‘rescue’ her…

Raqs-e-Bismil Episode 21 Story Review – Suffering Continues

Tonight’s episode of Raqs-e-Bismil revolved most around Zohra’s disappearance. The writer has used this latest development as a means to take the story in a different direction. A lot of screen time was dedicated to Tauqeer and Faizee’s plotting and planning. Moosa’s state of mind was translated on screen superbly by Imran Ashraf, yet again. The fact that Moosa isn’t the least bit bothered about his parents and has conveniently forgotten them annoys me more with every passing week. Laila’s character continues to be interesting. I also feel that the ‘sonay ki chirya’ reference is being quite repetitive and it…

Raqs-e-Bismil Episode 20 Story Review – Haphazard

Tonight’s episode of Raqs-e-Bismil wasn’t as impactful as it should have been considering that Zohra went missing in this one and everyone was worried sick for her. It was a little too fast-paced since so much happened but most of what happened was simply all over the place. There have been way too many coincidences lately and Sheheryar executed this latest ‘business deal’ in the most haphazard manner possible! I had a really difficult time connecting to Zohra’s pain perhaps because her mindset is not making sense to me at all. Even though the writer quite literally spelled everything out…
