Indian Composer Reveals Aashiqui Songs Were Stolen From Pakistan

Aashiqui was a big movie from Bollywood that managed to reach a cult classic status due to its beautiful music. The film starred Rahul Roy and Annu Aggarwal in the lead and the music was composed by famous Indian composer duo Nadeem-Sharavan. Those songs are still hummed all over South Asia and the music is surely evergreen.

Another famous composer from Bollywood Lalit Pandit of the duo Jatin-Lalit recently gave an interview to Bollywood Hungama. The composer has been the name behind many big Bollywood hits including the music for Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayeinge. He talked about the music culture of Bollywood, how remaining true to their beats was important for him and how Aashqui’s composers Nadeem-Sharavan used to copy Pakistani music.

He further revealed that Nadeem and Sharavan used to go to Dubai where they would get Pakistani cassettes and then reproduce that Pakistani music as their own songs. He said that this was known by the whole industry and this is what happened with Aashiqui’s music as well.
