In every season, Pakistani drama viewers come across fresh pairs and on-screen couples. Where some of the couples do not really make an impact, there are others that are well received by the audience because of various reasons. At times, the factors that make any on-screen couple successful and well-loved could be the chemistry shared between them, the kind of relationship they have, and the way they treat each other. For any on-screen couple to work, the dynamic is of utmost importance and then the characters that they are getting to play.
It is a known fact that a lot of actors prefer working with the co-stars that they are comfortable with, however, there are always such dramas where different actors are cast together who have not worked before and they end up winning the hearts of the viewers. In the dramas that have aired recently, Pakistani drama viewers have gotten to see a few such on-screen couples and pairs that were not seen before and although the audience may have been skeptical but after the dramas started airing, they ended up liking these fresh pairs.

Imran Ashraf & Sarah Khan (Raqs e Bismil)
Imran Ashraf and Sarah Khan were paired together as Moosa and Zohra in the drama serial Raqs e Bismil and right from the beginning, their on-screen couple was a hit amongst the audience. Although Moosa has always overshadowed the character of Zohra, there is no doubt about the fact that both Imran Ashraf and Sarah Khan have an undeniable screen presence, that is why the scenes where both of them were seen together ended up becoming the highlight of all those episodes. The way their love story has been written also makes it an endearing relationship with Zohra being in denial and taking wrong decisions to push him away and Moosa on the other hand literally losing everything for the sake of his love for him. This is exactly why in a recent episode where Zohra confesses her love for Moosa, the audience couldn’t contain their excitement and it became the talk of the town. Although Zohra and Moosa have had very limited scenes together, it adds more to the anticipation where the audience wants to see them together even more. Imran Ashraf and Sarah Khan definitely deserve all the credit for making Moosa and Zohra one of the unforgettable couples and a beautiful on-screen couple for the drama viewers.
Ayeza Khan & Osman Khalid Butt (Chupke Chupke)
When the pictures of this project started ciruclating last year, the audience absolutely had no idea about the dynamic the characters of Meenu and Faazi played by Ayeza Khan and Osman Khalid Butt will share. They were definitely in for a very pleasant surprise because even when the story began, no one could actually see them both ending up together. However, as the drama progressed, people fell in love with Meenu and Faazi’s couple. Ayeza Khan and Osman Khalid Butt gave their characters such a perfect and unique treatment that it became a highlight of Ramzan for all the viewers who tuned to TV at the end of a long day. Ayeza and Osman looked perfect together and the added bonus was the comic quotient their equation had which made it even better. This was definitely a refreshing pair seen in a Pakistani drama and we would love to see more of them together in different projects.
Ramsha Khan & Affan Waheed (Shehnai)
Ramsha Khan and Affan Waheed have also not worked together before and this is exactly why the audience did not know what to expect. However, their couple is not only new but also quite interesting and refreshing because it started off on a note where they both were not into each other but because of the niceness, and after exploring the compatibility, they have started thinking about each other genuinely. The characters of Bakht and Meerab are polar opposites and this is why their interactions are always very interesting because they see things from a completely different perspective. Meerab is a soft-hearted person whereas Bakht is a tough cookie, at least she carries that facade for the most part. Ramsha and Affan definitely have brought a lot of charm and fun in the drama serial Shehnai and they make a very nice pair which the audience would love to see in the future.
Arsalan Naseer & Aymen Saleem (Chupke Chupke)
The craze of Haadi and Mishi’s couple HaShi is an example in itself of how popular their on-screen couple has become that throughout the time when the drama was on-air, their couple was trending with people showering the new actors with a lot of love and appreciation for their drama and their characters. The luck was definitely on their side because Chupke Chupke was both Arsalan Naseer as well as Aymen Saleem’s debut drama and the amount of love they received has definitely given their acting careers a brilliant kickstart and has already put their names on the map. They have garnered a massive fan following and people are already demanding the second season because of how popular the entire cast and especially the main couples of Meenu Faazi and Haadi Mishi have become. Arsalan Naseer and Aymen Saleem’s chemistry was strong and their couple was cute, making it relatable for all those viewers who in their actual lives struggle to get their message across to their families too. Although Arsalan and Aymen are new actors, they also gave convincing performances, making Haadi and Mishi a memorable fresh pair of this year.
Feroze Khan & Iqra Aziz (Khuda Aur Mohabbat)
Feroze Khan and Iqra Aziz are also working together for the first time in mega-hit drama serial Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3. Even before the drama went on air Feroze Khan was sure of the waves this drama is going to make. The story of the drama is based on the character of Farhad, played by Feroze Khan and Iqra Aziz plays the role of Mahi, Farhad’s love interest. The story is revolving around Farhad right from the beginning but Mahi also has been given a lot of coverage and now a lot more because she is in a state of emotional turmoil. Her life is about to change and she will be seen a lot more. However, Farhad and Mahi have had very few and limited scenes together, therefore not a lot can be made of their chemistry. However, the audience is loving the intensity behind the emotion of love that Farhad has for Mahi and that is turning out to be one of the defining factors of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3. It will be interesting to see whether Farhad and Mahi will ever come together or have more scenes in the upcoming episodes, however, they have definitely become popular as an on-screen couple because of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3.
Faysal Qureshi & Hiba Bukhari (Fitoor)
Faysal Qureshi and Hira Bukhari also joined hands for their project Fitoor. The cast of this drama is different and has not been seen working together before. The story of Fitoor is a bit on the typical side but the equation that Dilnasheen and Haider share makes it worth watching. Hiba Bukhari and Faysal Qureshi are playing more or less the similar kind of roles that they have done before but the overall treatment of their couple, as well as their dynamic, makes it interesting. Dilnasheen definitely knows how to fight for her rights and Haider is making sure that he doesn’t do anything to deprive his wife of the rights she has on him. Faysal Qureshi and Hiba Bukhari definitely look good together on-screen and although their relationship took a long time to normalize, their chemistry is definitely nice, making it one of the strongest fresh pairs seen in the current dramas.
Maya Ali & Sheheryar Munawwar (Pehli Si Mohabbat)
Drama serial Pehli Si Mohabbat happens to be both Maya Ali and Sheheryar Munawwar’s comeback drama. They both have been seen together in a Pakistani feature film Paray Hut Love but when it comes to dramas, this is their first project together. Maya Ali and Sheheryar Munawwar not only make a beautiful couple but their chemistry on-screen is sizzling. This is the reason their scenes are the highlight of the drama and the equation the characters of Rakhsi and Aslam share is very relatable and cute in some ways. They both are young and hopelessly in love with each other with sadly their feelings and emotions for each other being tested with each passing day. They both know they don’t stand a chance but still, they love each other with all their hearts. Maya Ali and Sheheryar Munawwar are definitely quite selective about their projects but the success of Pehli Si Mohabbat should be enough of a reason for them both to do more drama together in the future.
