India is in lockdown since March 18 amid Coronavirus pandemic. This has led to the production of films and TV being halted indefinitely. As it's unclear when the situation will be stable enough for film shootings to resume, celebrities are using the free time to invest in other things. Actress Rakul Preet Singh admits that she would have had three releases this year – Attack with John Abraham, Indra Kumar’s film with Ajay Devgn and the untitled film with Arjun Kapoor. But, things will have to wait now.
Rakul Preet Singh admitted recently that she had a great experience working with Ajay Devgn and Tabu in De De Pyaar De. While she made her debut in Yaariyan in 2014, she has been working back and forth between Hindi and South films. It was only last year when De De Pyaar De put a spotlight on her in Hindi cinema followed by her role in Marjaavaan. Speaking of the film, she said that it kickstarted her career and gave her an opportunity to work with two of her idols. She said that she is a fan of both Ajay and Tabu and they treated her like an equal on the sets of De De Pyaar De. She further added that she got to play the role of Aisha who was her age as they showed the age gap in relationships in the film.
Rakul Preet Singh admitted that she told Ajay Devgn once while shooting that she was merely 2 years old when she sang ‘Ruk Ruk Ruk’ from his and Tabu’s 1994 film, Vijaypath. Ajay laughed about it and asked her not to mention it to anyone. She quipped saying that isn’t their film all about age gap?
Amid lockdown, Rakul has started an online crash course on Business management. She said that even in the South, she used to work 350-360 days a year. She admitted that this is the longest break she has ever taken in her career.
