Amid the coronavirus outbreak in the country, there are false rumours of animals being carriers of the virus. Several celebrities have taken to their social media to bust this rumour.
Today, filmmaker Farah Khan's young daughter made posters asking people to not abandon their pets. Farah Khan shared a picture of her daughter holding some of the posters she made. Sharing the picture, the filmmaker wrote, “Kids always show us the wAy.. my daughter making posters for assholes who r abandoning their pets."
Actress Preity Zinta too took to Twitter to share a happy picture with her pet dog on the occasion of national puppy day and stressed on the fact that animals do not transmit the virus. Sharing the picture, Preity wrote, "#Socialdistancing is the best thing we can do rightnow 2fight the #covid19 virus. Abandoning ur pets is d most inhuman thing U can do, specially when its confirmed that they are NOT carriers of the virus. Have a heart folks,stay safe, love ur pets. #pzfit #nationalpuppyday #ting"
A few days ago, John Abraham took to his twitter handle to inform people about pets not transmitting the virus. He had shared a news article which stated that civic bodies were handing out pamphlets asking people to stay away from animals. This led to people abandoning their pets. After John Abraham’s tweet, Mumbai’s civic body, BMC confirmed that pets don't carry the virus.
