Owing to the ongoing pandemic and subsequent lockdown our lives have come to a halt, and the worst sufferers are the ones left without a home, livelihood and food. Bollywood stood united to gather as much help as possible. Last night, a one-of-its-kind virtual concert, I for India, took place, featuring the Who's Who of Bollywood. The vision for the concert was to entertain those locked down in their homes, pay tribute to those who are working on the frontlines and to raise funds for those who have no work and no home and do not know where their next meal is coming from.

Twenty-four hours after the show went live, they managed to collect Rs 54 crores. Karan Johar took to his Instagram stories to thank all the artists who performed and spoke through the live which went on for nearly four hours. “Thank you to all the artists who performed and spoke from their hearts for iforindia!Zoya and I are overwhelmed by all the love and humanity that surrounds us…gratitude to friends and family that have been so supportive through this journey and a massive shout out to Jairam and his team at Fountainhead for being such staunch make solid pillars and also to the two of you you know who you are) you both have been the wind beneath our wings and the soul and spine of this concert! We can we will! We must! Express our gratitude to the world for their generosity! Keep the river of goodness flowing,” Karan wrote.

Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Katrina Kaif, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Arijit Singh, among other artists, took part in the concert.
