Every Pakistani by now knows what Game of Thrones is and what a blockbuster show it turned out to be.
The highest budget show ever produced by HBO, saw billions worldwide take interest in the show. Similarly, the show gained vast traction in Pakistan as well.
However, did you know that a Pakistani actor worked in Game of Thrones as well? As an extra, yes, but he was present in the final season doing multiple roles.
Agha Abbas is a Pakistani who lives in Ireland. An aspiring actor and model, Agha was cast in the final season of Game of Thrones. When Daenerys Targaryen decided to attack King’s Landin, Agha was one of many extra actors doing multiple roles.
With a clause of not revealing much about the show, Agha worked through his contract with GoT stars like John Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Arya Stark and Jamie Lannister.
In one scene, Agha was rescued by Ser Davos and John Snow. In one scene, he had to push Jamie Lannister against the crowd. One scene saw Agha walk alongside Arya Stark among other extras when he talked to her about the weather of Ireland.

Agha said: “A funny incident involved a conversation between me and the episode director Miguel, who was letting me know of my scorched fate by being subtle about the dragon, which clearly was a spoiler for me, said ‘imagine something big and terrible is gonna come your way and burn you, so act really really scared and hold on to your wife (my got wife)’ Talk about being subtle.
The narrative doesn’t stem from motivation or hard work but is merely a matter of chance and luck. In sheer honesty, I wasn’t much of a big fan of the show and only started watching it as I was about to chair a fictional Model United Nations committee back in my home country, yeah yeah I know you have all been there.
Throwing the term ‘MUN’ around seemed pretty cool back then, a term rather quotidian given to its widespread presence in every part of the country these days. Well, I didn’t come here to make rants bout MUNs. This is about me and only me, selfish, isn’t it?
Anyway cutting the long narrative short, somehow I made it to the show thanks to a couple of other videos I did for friends. It has been a pleasure shooting with HBO. The entire team was very supportive and the whole aura of it was simply amazing. Once in a lifetime opportunity I’d say and glad I was a part of it,” Agha added.
Even though Agha’s cameo might be a very short one. It shows that Pakistanis are present everywhere. Also, his experiences with real-life superstars of Game of Thrones is worth sharing.
