Mira Sethi Explains Mera Jism Meri Marzi

Mira Sethi was invited on Mooro’s podcast where she discussed many things related to women and its status in society.

Mooro questioned about Khalil-ur-Rehman’s view about women that he says, ‘I give women a high value’. On which Mira Sethi replied, “This is the oldest trick you keep someone on a pedestal, on a so-called pedestal but you are actually imprisoning them.”

She continued and said, “Even that line ‘aurat fitratan bewafa nahi hoti aur jo bewafa hoti hai wo fitratan aurat nahi hoti’. Basically he is saying there is no room to make a mistake and if you make a mistake you should be punished.”

She went on to say that women are humans and they have the same makeup as a man.

“You don’t get to set terms for my life, my body, my decisions, right? I know the society in which I live and operate after all we are all grown women,” she added.

Mira Sethi believes women are smart and they know about their rights.

She also explained the slogan Mera Jism Meri Marzi and said, “Women just saying to men in a provocative way that my life, my body, my decision, my agency, you don’t get to dictate.”
