Anushka Sharma’s Paatal Lok lands in trouble again, Sikkim MP writes to I&B Minister Prakash Javadekar to take action against the show

Anushka Sharma's production Paatal Lok, a nine-part web series which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video has been receiving positive reviews from all over. A few days ago, Anushka Sharma was served a legal notice from a member of the Lawyers Guild, for a casteist slur used in the show. Now, Sikkim Lok Sabha MP Indra Hang Subba has written a letter to Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar calling for action against the show.

This is regarding sexist slur hurled against the Nepali speaking community in the second episode of the original series Paatal Lok which is being streamed in Amazon Prime Video. Nepali is one of the 22 languages listed in the 8th Schedule of the Indian constitution with 10.5 million people speaking the language as mother tongue. Hence the derogatory and offensive label made in the particular scene of the series has not only hurt the sentiments of the community but has also set an example of racist stereotyping of the people from th..

In an interview to a television channel, Aalia has come out with very ugly allegations against Nawaz and his brothers. She says, “We were facing problems in our married life since the time we got hitched. Neither Nawazuddin nor his brothers know how to respect women. He used to only point out my mistakes whenever we talked. He even insulted me several times in front of others. He said, ‘When you don’t know how to speak, then you should remain quiet’. He never gave me the respect which a wife deserves in a relationship. I lost all my self-respect during our relationship. ”

She goes on to accuse Nawaz of ill-treatment and of neglecting the children. She also reveals that the couple has been living apart for nearly five years. And this is not the end of the allegations. Akshay Kumar’s Laxmmi Bomb may not take the straight-to-digital route

It seems the Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmmi Bomb, which was being mentioned as one of the pending releases to go on the OTT platform, may not take the straight-to-digital route.

Apparently, the film’s team of helmers has been brainstorming over the matter. They have concluded that putting an Akshay Kumar film on the OTT platform may harm the theatrical prospects of other big-budgeted films, including other Akshay starrers, once the lockdown is lifted.
Says a source close to the development, “Akshay Kumar is one the 4 top actors in Bollywood. If a film starting AK goes to the digital platform, then the movie exhibition business is doomed. We will never be able to entice audiences back to the theatres.”
In addition, it must be noted that Akshay has another big project Sooryavanshi awaiting release. If Laxmmi Bomb goes on the OTT platform, it will adversely affect the box-office potential of Sooryavanshi which is most definitely not going digital.
In the light of these considerations, t..
