Microsoft Adds 2 Factor Authentication to Teams After Zoom Debacle

As a result of Coronavirus-induced lockdown, schools, colleges, universities, and workplaces around the world are being forced to work/teach remotely. Consequently, remote working software are being put to the test as the use of collaboration apps, and video conferencing tools have spiked during last month.
Microsoft teams is one of them. Initially, thanks to the sudden rise in its userbase, the platform had to face major service outages. As the number of users keeps increasing, the tech giant, in its attempt to offer uninterrupted services, has introduced several new features in an update.
The new features are:
Interoperability: users will be able to make calls and send messages from Teams to Skype and vice versa. Facebook is Investing $100 Million in the News Industry

With the ongoing pandemic, high-quality and accurate news reporting is imperative. However, the pandemic has prompted a sharp decline in the advertising spend since the companies are slashing marketing budgets amidst financial uncertainty.
Approximately 70% of total buyers have already adjusted their plans. This fall in revenue comes at a time when accurate and precise journalism is needed more than ever.
Hence, Facebook, on top of the $300 million it dedicated to news programs, partnerships, and content at the beginning of 2019, has pledged to invest $100 million in the news industry.
Out of this amount, $25 million will be provided in grant funding for local news via the Facebook journalism project. The remaining $75 million will be sent in the form of ‘additional marketing spend’ to the worldwide organizations.

Affordable Honor 30S Launched With Quad Cameras & Flagship Specifications

Huawei’s subsidiary Honor has announced the Honor 30S 5G in China and from the looks of it, it is a budget friendly substitute to the Huawei P40. The smartphone is an upper mid-range device that uses the company’s Kirin 820 chipset and can be placed just below the P40 series.
Design and Display Design wise, the smartphone looks a lot like the recently launched Huawei P40 series. It has a similar camera housing. However, the rear side of the smartphone comes with a “butterfly 3D glass” paint job, like its predecessor.

Samsung Launches The Affordable Galaxy M11 With a 5,000 mAh Battery

The Samsung Galaxy M11 has just arrived as an update to last year’s Galaxy M10 with a few design changes and upgrade to specifications as well. The new Galaxy M11 has a punch-hole display, an additional camera at the back, and a much bigger battery for an affordable price tag.
Design and Display The Galaxy M11 has a 6.4-inch LCD with HD+ resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio, and minimal bezels all around except the thick chin. There is now a punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera instead of the waterdrop notch we saw last year on the Galaxy M10.

Passing 1500, Pakistan’s Coronavirus Tally Surging by the Hundreds

Early Sunday, Pakistan’s coronavirus tally surged past 1,500. The country has recorded 12 fatalities from the virus so far while the recoveries stand at 28. Punjab remains the worst affected followed by Sindh, Balochistan, KP, AJK/GB, and Islamabad in terms of confirmed COVID-19 cases.
China, the onetime epicenter of the disease, has now been overtaken by the US, which now has over 123,750 cases, followed by Italy that has recorded over 92,472 confirmed cases. In death toll, Italy is leading the world recording over 10,000 deaths followed by Spain with about 6,000 deaths.
In China, the new coronavirus cases are trending lower. The country reported 45 new coronavirus cases in the mainland for Saturday, down from 54 on the previous day. Almost all cases involved travelers from overseas with only one case of local transmission.
