The Competition Commission of Pakistan (‘CCP’) has initiated an enquiry into the suspected cartelization by Primary Dealers (PDs) in the recent auctions of Market Treasury Bills (T-bills) carried out by the Government of Pakistan. Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has imposed a hefty fine of Rs. 30 million on Jazz for low quality of service in over half a dozen cities across Pakistan. PTA said that fine was imposed after Jazz failed to comply with the Quality of Services Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in seven cities. Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) has challenged the Higher Education Commission (HEC) notification on the status of graduate engineers and B.Tech graduates in the Islamabad High Court (IHC). On behalf of PEC, Barrister Raheel has filed a writ petition, adopting a stance that the HEC notification is illegal. The plea demands declaring the HEC notification null and void.
