The federal government has constituted the Cabinet Committee on Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) to ensure the implementation of recommendations within the contours of SIFC. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued an updated list of 222 locally manufactured goods for the purpose of concessionary imports. The FBR has issued the new list under the instructions of the customs general order (CGO) 4 of2022.The list contains locally manufactured goods including chemical composition of some grades of Case Hardening steel and chemical composition assortment to ascertain case hardening steels. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Zonal Office, Lahore, in close collaboration with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Cyber Crime Circle, conducted a successful raid against franchisee of Telenor located on Jampur Road, DG Khan. The franchisee was found to be involved in the illegal issuance of SIMs. During the raid, 17 BVS devices, 1 laptop, 360 active SIMs and 1,000 scanned soft images of finger/thumb impressions from laptops were seized as evidence. The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has re-instated an inspector of customs, who alleged that he allowed clearance/passage of vehicles carrying smuggled petroleum products on the directions of senior customs officials. The Meat Merchants Association in Karachi has released official rates for animal slaughtering services during Eid al-Adha. As per the association’s announcement, the fee for slaughtering a heifer on the first day of Eid will be Rs. 20,000, while the rate for sacrificing a goat has been fixed at Rs. 10,000.
