After Grant Elliot, another New Zealand cricketer has taken a liking to Pakistan. Celebrating his birthday on 11th March, Colin Munro tweeted about his love for the desi Pakistani food.
Islamabad United celebrated their opening batsman’s birthday at Kolachi in Karachi. Better yet, the explosive Kiwi thanked his team and Karachi for celebrating his birthday. And he is a big fan of desi Pakistani food. Here’s what he said:

Hilarious: Ben Dunk Just Found the Winner of His Bubble Gum Challenge [Videos]

PSX Records a Bloodbath as Market Loses 1,716 Points

Another bloodbath was witnessed at the Pakistan Stock Exchange in a single week as the stocks took a hammering after the World Health Organisation declared the coronavirus a pandemic.
Adnan Sami Sheikh, AVP research at Pak Kuwait Investment Company noted that Coronavirus fears and plunging oil prices led to the largest single-day decline since July 2017.
Saad Hashemy, Executive Director BMA Capital said,
At the end of the day, the benchmark KSE-100 index was closed 1,716 points or 4.77 percent down to settle at 35,956 points. This was primarily due to the spread of Coronavirus around the world and drastic measures like barring of flights by the US from Europe. Resultantly, oil also fell 5-6%.
He noted that both of the above-mentioned reasons led to the fall in the market today.

Pakistan Approves Framework for Uniform Sales Tax

The National Finance Commission (NFC) Monitoring Committee on Thursday approved the National Tax Council (NTC) composition and its terms of references (ToRs) with representations from provinces, which will enable them to decide collectively the rate for sales tax for both goods and services and harmonized tax structure.
Adviser to the Prime Minister on Finance and Revenue Dr.Abdul Hafeez Shaikh chaired the meeting of the NFC Monitoring Committee here on Thursday. Provincial Finance Ministers of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan were also there while Punjab and Sindh were represented by their Finance Secretaries.
The meeting was convened to seek approval of the bi-annual report on the implementation of the NFC Award for the periods of July –December 2018 and January – June 2019 and the establishment of the National Tax Council (NTC).

WHO Declares Coronavirus Crisis a Pandemic but Pakistan Continues to Take It Lightly: Live Updates

In a major development, the World Health Organization has declared COVID-19 a pandemic, saying it is not a word to use lightly or carelessly.
Speaking at a press conference, Tedros Adhanom said that WHO was ‘deeply concerned both by the alarming levels of spread and severity, and the alarming levels of inaction’.
“In the past two weeks, the number of cases of COVID-19 outside China has increased 13-fold, and the number of affected countries has tripled,” he added. So far, there are 118,000 cases reported in 114 countries while 4,291 people have lost their lives. Thousands more are fighting for their lives in hospitals, Tedros informed.
The WHO chief warned that in the days and weeks ahead, the number of cases, deaths, and affected countries were expected to climb even higher.
