Randeep Hooda and Jay Patel partner to contribute Rs.1 crore to the PM-CARES fund

To cope with COVID-19 Pandemic, India is under an unprecedented lockdown of 21 days, and the government has been making all efforts to contain the spread of the virus. However, to support the government deal with the severe health and economic ramifications, Jay Patel and Randeep Hooda, the duo from Corporate and Bollywood have partnered and stepped up to contribute rs. 1 crore to the ‘Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund’ (PM CARES Fund), Daily Wages Worker, Ventilators, and encouraged others to do the same.

Randeep, who has been actively involved in various environmental and social causes, said “ We salute the heroes who are serving against the life-threatening Coronavirus Disease without fear round the clock – doctors, nurses, police and daily needs suppliers. The world is going through pandemic with extreme effects of a virus that has not been experienced by any of us living today.”

Anshula Kapoor’s Fankind start a fundraiser to help migrant workers and daily wagers affected by coronavirus lockdown

Fankind, a celebrity fundraising platform has started a fundraiser to help give cash in hand to migrant workers and daily wagers (like cobblers, tailors, construction workers etc) who are out of a job due to coronavirus and therefore cannot afford to pay their rent or feed their families.

The entire donation amount will go to the unemployed labourer to help his or her family. GiveIndia will transfer the money directly to the labourers. Donors will receive a tax-exempt 80G certificate. Shabana Azmi talks about her accidents; says it is a miracle she did not break any bones

Shabana Azmi returned from Budapest on March 15 and went in for self-imposed quarantine ever since. In an interview with a daily, Shaban spoke about the accident and her recovery. Talking about the accident she met with a few weeks ago on the Mumbai-Pune highway, she said that she was sleeping at the back of the car because she and Javed had stayed up till early morning celebrating the latter’s birthday.

Javed Akhtar was in another car ahead of her with his cousin Dr Sumbul Warsi and her husband Nawab. They were on their way to Sukoon in Khandala when a truck rammed into her car. Shabana said that she passed out during the accident and was in the ICU when she came back to her senses. She said that she does not entirely remember her time at the ICU but remembers people saying that it's a miracle she survived.
