Saudi Arabia has allowed a free extension of the validity of visas and iqamas of expatriates who were stranded in the country due to the travel ban amid the third COVID outbreak in the country. The Saudi Press Agency reported that the kingdom’s finance minister approved a free-of-charge extension of validity of iqamas, exit, and re-entry visas of stranded ex-pats on royal orders. Banking customers in Pakistan made record cash withdrawals of Rs. 827 billion through ATMs during the month of Ramadan till holidays Eid-ul-Fitr amid the high demand of currency notes for personal and business expenditures. According to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan, bank customers withdrew a record Rs. 827.2 billion through 63.2 million transactions through ATMs during Ramadan and Eid holidays. A recent meeting of the Standing Committee on Water Resources has passed recommendations that inspectors should be appointed for spot-checking of water losses and a committee consisting of representatives of Irrigation Departments, Punjab & Sindh, and IRSA should be made to examine and control water losses. The Standing Committee was informed that the Canal System of Punjab is the biggest in the country, however, the losses of water in Punjab are only fifteen percent of the total losses of the country.
